William “Billy” Pfaffinger

May 6, 1983 — March 22, 2026

Hilliard

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of William “Billy” Pfaffinger. A beloved son, brother, partner, and friend, whose presence brought strength, laughter, and love to everyone around him.

Billy grew up in Hilliard, Ohio, where he attended Hilliard Davidson High School. During his time there, he was a dedicated athlete, playing both football and tennis. His passion for sports began at a young age, highlighted by one of his proudest accomplishment.. winning a Punt, Pass, and Kick competition at just 9 years old, an achievement that earned him recognition in Sports Illustrated. He continued his love for athletics into college, playing tennis at Eastern Kentucky University.

Beyond his accomplishments, Billy will be remembered most for the person he was. Though he carried himself with strength, those closest to him knew he was, at his core, the biggest teddy bear, gentle, loving, and deeply protective of his family. He was the kind of person who loved fiercely and showed up for the people he cared about without hesitation.

He was truly the life of the party, someone who could light up any room with his humor and energy. More than anything, he simply loved being around his people; laughing, spending time together, and making memories that will now be cherished forever.

Billy was preceded in death by his grandfather, Richard Olson; his mother, Deborah Olson-Buchanan; and his sister, Courtney Pfaffinger.

He is survived by his grandmother, Marcia Olson; his sisters, Faryn and Samantha Buchanan; his loving girlfriend, Amber Simpson; her son, Landon Simpson; and their daughter, Grace Kay Pfaffinger. He also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will miss him deeply.

Though his time here was far too short, the love, laughter, and strength he gave to others will never fade. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. And he will continue to live on through the people he saved through organ donation.

A celebration of life to honor Billy will be held at Tidd Family Funeral Home, 5265 Norwich Street, Hilliard, Ohio, 43026, on Friday, March 27th. The visitation will begin at 3:00PM and end at 6:00PM. Starting at 5:00PM, family and friends will share memories and words in celebration of Billy.
