Vivian Jane Murphy, age 91, of Hilliard, Ohio, passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 8, 2026, following a brief battle with colon cancer. Born on May 21, 1935, she was the cherished daughter of the late Edward and Elizabeth "Dolly" James. Vivian was a proud graduate of North High School in Columbus, Ohio. Family and faith were everything to Vivian, and she deeply treasured every single moment spent with those she loved. She was married to the love of her life, Herb Weisenberger, and together they built a beautiful world centered on warmth and joy. A devoted member of her church community, she dedicated many years to guiding others as a fellowship youth leader and Sunday school teacher. Vivian provided tireless support for her children and grandchildren’s aspirations and dreams. She was also a Buckeye fan and a remarkably multi-talented woman. An avid artist, she truly loved oil painting and won various awards and ribbons for her beautiful artwork over the years. In her younger years, she brought that same fierce passion to the court as a ferocious badminton player. She was also a brilliant cook whose family still proudly uses her classic recipes to this day, and she always went out of her way to make holidays unforgettable, as special family traditions were incredibly important to her. Her vibrant spirit, endless care, and gentle presence will be deeply and warmly missed by her kids, grandkids, great-grandchildren, and all she loved. Vivian leaves behind her loving children, Susie Bland (Craig) and Cary Weisenberger (Geny). She was preceded in death by her beloved daughters, Linda Paparodis (survived by her husband Chris) and Ginny Mott (preceded in death by her husband Wayne). She is survived by her sister, Joanie Anderson, and proudly leaves a vast, sprawling legacy of 14 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her dear siblings: Edward "Buzz" James, Phil Crabtree, Hodgie Wallace, her twin sister Ginny Botley, and Marilyn Finnerty. Those who knew Vivian will fondly remember her bright personality and her delightful daily tradition of enjoying a favorite wine spritzer with dinner. Her legacy of unconditional love, faith, creativity, and joyful traditions will live on forever in the hearts of her family. Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate Vivian’s beautiful life. Visitation will be held from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM at the Tidd Family Funeral Home (5265 Norwich Street, Hilliard, Ohio 43026), on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, followed immediately by a funeral service at 6:30 PM. For those who wish to express their sympathy, flowers are welcome, or a memorial donation may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
