Starlene "Kay" Vanden Eynden

Starlene Kay Vanden Eynden, known to her loved ones as Kay, was born on May 22, 1958, in Columbus, Ohio. She peacefully passed away on November 1, 2023. Kay was a beloved mother, wife, and the cherished matriarch of her family.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Vanden Eynden; her parents, Henry Calvin Lester and Georgia Whitt; and her siblings, Jeannie Layne and Phil Lester.  She is survived by her brothers, Van Lester, Tony Lester and Allen Lester; sons, Matthew, Aaron (Ashley), Calvin and Joe (Heather); 7 grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

While she humbly attributed her significant life events to raising her four boys, those who knew her best would say that it was her unwavering commitment to helping others that truly defined her life. Kay, alongside her devoted husband Dennis, embodied the spirit of compassion and generosity, extending their hands to those in need.

She had a gift for bringing her family together, often hosting holiday gatherings and ensuring that the bonds between family members remained strong. Her nurturing and welcoming presence was a cornerstone of unity and love in the family.

Kay's memory will forever live on in the hearts of her four sons and all those fortunate enough to have known her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and togetherness that will continue to inspire and guide her family for generations to come.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 10 at 1:00 PM at Tidd Funeral Home 5265 Norwich Street in Hilliard, where family and friends will come together to celebrate Kay's life and honor her memory. Following the service, Kay will be laid to rest at the Wesley Chapel Cemetery.
