Sharon Stahmer

Sharon Elaine Stahmer returned to be with her Heavenly Father on January 19, 2026. She passed away at the Ohio Hospice at the OSU Wexner Medical Center in Columbus after a long battle with cancer.

Shari was born April 3, 1953, in Lebanon, Kentucky to Charles A. and Anna Lou Shewmaker, the fourth of seven children. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters Charlotte Shewmaker and Stephanie Shewmaker and one brother James Shewmaker. She is survived by her husband Bruce Stahmer, three brothers Charles Curtiss Shewmaker, Joe Kent (Cindy) Shewmaker and Edward Shewmaker, along with various nieces and nephews.

Shari was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and spent many hours providing services to those who needed her help. She especially enjoyed working with young children as a teacher and administrator. Shari also served as a full-time missionary for the Church in the Paris, France area from September 1975 until March 1977.

Knowing that education was valuable, Shari attended several colleges, including Campbellsville College, Arizona State University and Mesa Community College. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 1988 and Master's of Science in Education in 1989, both from the Western Oregon State College. After graduating, she received a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.

Shari was a loving wife of 44 years. Most of all, Shari went about trying to help anyone she saw needed her help. She spent many hours providing service to those in need.

Family will be holding a visitation and funeral service on Friday, January 23, 2026, at the Tidd Family Funeral Home, 5265 Norwich Street, Hilliard, Ohio, 43026. The visitation will begin at 4:00PM and end at 6:00PM for the funeral service to follow immediately after at 6:00PM.
