Scarlett Sky Hightower, 11, peacefully passed away on May 15th, 2026, at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on February 19th, 2015, at OhioHealth Dublin Methodist Hospital to Mother Crystal Rose Bayliss. She was preceded in death by her uncle Timothy Lee Reynolds and aunt Evelyn Caulley. She is survived by her mother, Crystal Bayliss; two older siblings, Carter Deshawn Hightower and Lamyah Rose Bayliss; grandfather, Joseph Bayliss; and cousins: Lilly, Colton, and Bryson.
Scarlett was a loving daughter, sister, cousin, friend, student, and so much more. A wild child that brightened any room she stepped into, and a compassionate girl who went out of her way to make others smile. There were never any dull moments with Scarlett, with her whimsical imagination and contagious laughter. She was an ambitious girl who took pride in her artworks; paintings and drawings, digital art, and other creations. She loved to sing, spend time with her family and friends, watch YouTube videos, and play dress up.
Scarlett previously attended Alton Hall Elementary, Galloway Ridge, and Valleyview Elementary. She accomplished Honor Roll at Galloway Ridge and additionally received her Certificate of Achievement from The Franklin County Sheriff's Office for the D.A.R.E Program, received student of the week, and participated in her school's advanced math club.
Scarlett touched the hearts of everyone who met her. She had a heart full of adventure and enthusiasm and turned the most boring days into thrilling experiences. She had an eagerness to learn and explore the world and had done so through reading books and asking thousands of questions— even if neither of you knew the answer. She adored taking spontaneous trips out of town with her family and planning vacations, especially if a beach or a body of water were included. For a girl who couldn’t swim she was happiest near water with a bag full of snacks and her curly hair wild and free. She was as loyal and fierce as a young girl could be, with a knack for making friends any place she went. Not only was this extroverted girl a ball of never-ending energy, but she was also everyone’s number one hype girl and biggest supporter (even if she didn’t agree with your color choices). Scarlett always uplifted people with utmost sincerity and was expressive with her love and care for those she held dear.
Scarlett notoriously received her title of "The Chip Monster” for the copious amounts of Doritos, BBQ Lays, and Cheetos she enjoyed. She was also a passionate cat lover, leaving behind two named Tofu and Lil Skunk, whom she loved wholeheartedly. Her hobbies and interests were just as colorful as her bright personality; her undeniable potential grew greater with each day.
Scarlett's family will hold a visitation and funeral service in her honor on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at the Tidd Family Funeral Home, 5265 Norwich Street, Hilliard, Ohio, 43026. The visitation will begin at 12:00PM and end at 2:00PM for the funeral service to follow immediately after at 2:00PM.
