Ruby June Scaggs

Ruby June Scaggs, 84 years old, of Mt. Sterling, Ohio, was delivered into the arms of our Lord and Savior on Saturday, September 14, 2019. Her passing was peaceful and she was surrounded by her loving family. Born in Johnson County, Ky, Ruby was a graduate of Monroe High School, Class of 1953. She was preceded in death by her father Rev. L.D. Williams, her mother Phoebe Williams, brothers Dowell Williams, Robert (Geneva) Williams, Roger (Bernadine) Williams, Vonnie Williams, Bill (Leona) Williams and Sam (Reda) Williams; her sisters Beulah Sparks, Dixie (Alva) Wells, Jewell (Woodrow) Johnson, Edna (James) Adams and Edith Adams. She leaves behind her former husband Charles Scaggs, sons John (Tonda) Scaggs and Jack (Marsha) Scaggs, her daughter Sharon (Scott) Wall, her grandchildren-all of whom she loved more than life itself- Heidi (Josh) Satterfield, Adam Birchfield, Carly (Ricky) Stern, Jamie (Mike) Farmer and Jeremy Scaggs; great-grandchildren: Alyssa Miles, Ruby (her namesake and special best buddy) and Arlo, brother Donald Williams, brother-in-law Roy Adams, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Ruby never knew a stranger and was loved by all who knew her. Her kind heart and unending generosity was felt by all. She leaves behind a huge void, but her love will live on inside us. We will forever be grateful and blessed to have had her in our lives. Mom, we love you always. The family wished to extend a sincere “Thank you” to Heartland Hospice for all of the wonderful things they did for Mom and our family. If anyone would like to make a memorial donation, the family requests that donations be directed to Heartland Hospice or the American Alzheimer’s Association. Family will receive friends from 5:00p.m.-8:00p.m. THURSDAY at the PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 331 West Main Street, Mt. Sterling, OH 43143 and again from 10:00a.m.-11:00a.m. on FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 20, 2019 where her Funeral Service will follow the visitation and begin at 11:00a.m. FRIDAY with Reverend Dortha Ross, officiating.
