Roy E. Higgins

Roy E. Higgins, age 92, of Dublin, Ohio, passed away at home on Monday, June 13, 2022. Born in Columbus, Ohio to the late Roy and Mary Higgins, Roy was a graduate of Columbus Linden McKinley High School. Roy was a proud combat veteran of the United States Marine Corps having served during the Korean War. He attained the rank of Sergeant. Roy retired in 1990 from Battelle Memorial Institute after 36 years of service. He was a member of Dublin Community Church. Roy was preceded in death by his first wife Leah M. Higgins who passed in 1997 and by his second wife Joanne Higgins who passed in 2007. He was also preceded in death by his brother Frank Higgins and his sister Elizabeth (Higgins) Inskeep. Roy is survived by his companion and best friend Sue Wines, nieces Deanna (Inskeep) Gale and Brenda Inskeep, his step-children: William (Jen) Zipf, Jr., Thanda (Zipf) Meehan and Robert (Amanda) Zipf, his eight grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

Family will receive friends from 10:00a.m.-11:00a.m. FRIDAY, JUNE 17, 2022 at DUBLIN COMMUNITY CHURCH, 81 West Bridge Street (SR 161), Dublin, OH 43017 where his Funeral Service will follow the visitation and begin at 11:00a.m. FRIDAY. Burial with Marine Corps Honors will follow at Fairview Cemetery, West Liberty, Ohio.
