Ronald LeRoy Tull entered the open gates of Heaven on Friday, August 5, 2022. Known to everyone as Ron. He is remembered as a kind, gentle, polite man, treasured as a neighbor and friend. Admired for his positive attitude and for his memory for details. Ron most importantly lived a life of faith and trust in his relationship with God.
Ron was born in Arapahoe, NE, on February 1, 1937; he was welcomed by his parents Melvin and Wilma Tull. He graduated from Arapahoe High School in 1955 then entered McCook College where he studied Business Administration. From February 1957 until February 1959 he served in the United States Army with nineteen months of overseas service in Germany with the 10th Ordinance Battalion. Lifelong friendships were formed and annual gatherings became a part of his routine for many years. Ron married Betty Gehring June 17,1961. Ron spent most of his career with Allied Van Lines working out of the Corporate Office in Omaha, NE; where Ron and Betty lived for forty-five years. During this time Ron was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. He served on several church boards including as an Elder and as the Finance Chairman. In addition, Ron was a strong supporter of Betty’s school career. He attended countless school functions from her time as a classroom teacher until her tenure as an administrator. After retirement in 2002, Ron and Betty indulged their love of road trips by taking to the open road to see where that would lead. Their wanderlust rarely included a set ETA or reserved lodging. Their daughter, Teresa, her husband Brian and their two sons, Connor and Griffin, living in Dublin, OH, encouraged a move which was made in 2006. Some of Ron’s greatest joys were watching Connor and Griffin grow up and enjoying an active role in all their school and sports activities.
During his years as an Avery Place resident Ron participated in many social activities offered, especially card clubs and Bible study. He looked forward to golf outings with his buddies and his family, and he loved all sports particularly Nebraska football. Putting puzzles together and watching hockey were all favored pastimes.
Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife Betty; daughter Teresa Biernat, son-in-law Dr. Brian Biernat, grandsons Griffin and Connor Biernat, his sister Sharon Salerno of Loveland, CO, sister-in-law Carol Albers of Houston, TX, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Neighbors and friends will cherish their relationship with Ron, a deeply loved and treasured gentle man, who never complained about going to dialysis three times a week for 10 years.
