Ronald "Ron" Campbell

May 16, 1953 — Sep 15, 2026

Ronald William Campbell, 73, passed peacefully in his home on September 15, 2026.

Ron was born on May 16, 1953, and was a proud 1972 graduate of New Albany High School, where he was a football standout. His love of football and sports remained a part of who he was throughout his life.

Ron retired from Columbus Kenworth after many years of dedicated work. Ron enjoyed things that made life good—racing, gardening, watching football, mowing his grass, working on cars, and spending time with the people he loved. He especially cherished time with his children and grandchildren. Ron also loved getting together with his buddies, enjoying a drink, sharing stories, and making memories.

Ron is survived by his children, Adrian (Gabe) Lanza of Pickerington and Jay (Brittany) Campbell of Newark; his grandchildren, Ciciley Lanza, Bayler and Bruin Campbell, his sisters, Sharon (Bill) Litton and Mary “Darlene” (Jack) Zipf; his dear family friend Jared and Sarah Mason and family; his stepchildren, Jillie Betts (Gibson) and Jason Gibson and their families; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Russell Campbell; his mother, Helen Francis Campbell; his brother, Russell Wayne Campbell; his wife, Lori Campbell; and his beloved dog, Jack.

Ron will be remembered for his love of family, his passion for racing and cars, his pride in his home and yard, his love of football, and the good times he shared with his friends. He had a way of enjoying life on his own terms, and the memories he created with those around him will be treasured forever.

Though he will be deeply missed, his family takes comfort in knowing that Ron has found a good race to watch, a perfectly mowed yard, and a cold drink waiting for him.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ron’s memory to National Church Residences Hospice, which took exceptional care of Ron and provided compassionate support to him and his family.
