Roger Black

Roger Lee Black, passed away unexpectedly on June 17, 2025 at the age of 73.

Roger attended and graduated from West High School in Columbus, Ohio. Once Roger married, he moved to Hillard, OH where he raised his family. Roger had a love for airplanes. He learned as a young man from his father who also flew airplanes. He could tell you anything about any kind of plane. He has his own personal collection of the planes that he built and flew. The younger Roger enjoyed playing music and traveling with his band. His passion was the bass guitar which still sits in its case with the largest speaker in his home. Roger was a long-time employee of the Marzetti Company.

Roger was preceded in death by his father Wilson Black of West Jefferson, Oh. He is survived by his mother Betty Lou Black of West Jefferson, OH, sisters Terry (Ken) Poole of Hillard, OH, and Debbie Chester of Grove City, OH. He is also survived by his children, Joe Black of Hillard, OH, Adam Black of San Antonio, Texas and Steffanie Baumgardner of Corpus Christi, Texas. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Trinity Black, Peyton Baumgardner, Levi Baumgardner and Dak Baumgardner. Roger has two nephews Josh and Travis Poole and two nieces, Tammy and Tina.

Roger was a devoted son, brother, father, uncle and grandfather. He was a father figure to many and loved by anyone who knew him. As Roger used to say, "That's Right!", you will be truly missed by all.
