Robert Stormont

Robert E. Stormont, age 85, passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2018. He was a graduate of Hilliard High School, Class of 1950. Bob was a U.S. Army Veteran, a member of Columbia Heights United Methodist Church for 72 years, and owner/operator of Sohio at Broad and Norton. Bob was Chief of Prairie Township Fire Department for 11 years and dedicated a total of 41 years of service to the Department. He was a subcontractor for Prairie Township mowing roadways/parks. He was a member and Past Master of West Gate Lodge #623 F.&A.M., member of the American Legion, and member of the Moose Lodge #11. Bob enjoyed mowing, hunting, fishing, his tractors and spending time at Indian Lake. He is preceded in death by his parents: William Joseph and Mildred Stormont; his wife: Frances Stormont; and sister: Betty Jo (Joseph) Jenkinson. He is survived by his children: Gregory (Rachel) Stormont, Douglas (Becky) Stormont and Janice (Gregory) Bell; grandchildren: Amy, Andy, Nikki, Jenny, Grant, Mitchell, Jillian, Cash and 4 great-grandchildren and numerous relatives and friends. Family will receive friends 2-6 pm Sunday, February 25, 2018 at the TIDD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 5265 NORWICH ST., HILLIARD, OH 43026 614-876-1722. Funeral service will be held 11 am Monday, February 26, 2018 at Columbia Heights United Methodist Church, 775 Galloway Rd., Galloway, OH 43119. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the time of service. Interment Wesley Chapel Cemetery.
