Robert "Bob" F. Kienle

Robert F. Kienle, 86, of Hilliard, OH, died peacefully on Sunday, July 30, 2023. He was born on March 19, 1937, in Columbus, OH, to the late Robert L. and Rose Kienle. 

Bob graduated from St. Mary’s High School in German Village. Following graduation, he served in the U.S. Army in Germany. He worked for Sheet Metal Workers Local #98 and #24 for 45 years and enjoyed working at The Anderson’s General Store in his retirement, for many years. He also was a Captain in the Columbus Auxiliary Police for 50 years. 

Bob was a member of several Catholic organizations in German Village such as the Four S Club as past president, St. Francis Xavier Beneficial Society as past president, and the Catholic Order of Foresters. Bob was a faithful parishioner of St. Brendan the Navigator Church where he served as Lead Usher at the 7:15 a.m. mass for 40 years and was a member of the Men’s Club and the Knights of Columbus, Council #11208. 

He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 58 years, Fran (Robinette) Kienle; son Robert L. (Stacey) Kienle; daughter Fran (Mike) Pease; son John (Wendy Hartman) Kienle; grandchildren Spencer Pease and Annie and Evan Kienle; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his twin brother William J. Kienle. 

Family will receive friends from 3:00p.m.-6:00p.m. THURSDAY at the TIDD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich Street, Hilliard, OH 43026 (614)-876-1722.  After the visitation hours, friends are invited to join the family for a dinner at St. Brendan the Navigator Church, 4475 Dublin Road, Hilliard, OH 43026 from 6:30p.m.-8:30p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30a.m. FRIDAY, AUGUST 4, 2023 at ST. BRENDAN THE NAVIGATOR CATHOLIC CHURCH, 4475 Dublin Road, Hilliard, OH 43026 with Father Bob Penhallurick, Celebrant.  Private family burial will be held after the Mass at St. Joseph Cemetery, Lockbourne, OH.
