On Wednesday, June 4, 2025, Richard Strohacker passed away, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness that will never fade.
Born January 3, 1947 in Coshocton, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Nadine Strohacker, and by his beloved grandson, Alex Thomas Strohacker.
Richard is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sandra—whose love formed the cornerstone of their life together; son Brian Strohacker (Amy); daughter Kristin Thompson (Chuck); brother Larry Strohacker (Ledra); brother-in-law Gene Barber (Patti); grandsons Joshua, Jared, Dylan, and Owen Thompson; nieces Lannon Butcher (Adam), Laryn Strohacker, and Jennifer Board (Gary); nephew Jason; great-nieces Marlee and Drew; and great-nephew Nathan.
He cherished every moment spent with his family and was known for his love of connecting with people. Whether he was at his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events, engaging neighbors in friendly conversation, or taking long, reflective walks with his loyal dog, Charlie, Richard’s gentle and sincere demeanor made every interaction meaningful.
After graduating from Franklin University, he enlisted with the Army National Guard, where he dutifully served his country from 1968 to 1974. He then began his career in drafting before transitioning to sales at ADS Office Systems, and then 35 years in real estate—a field where his keen attention to detail and dedication resonated with everyone he served, maintaining a reputation for reliability and precision. His many referrals spoke volumes about the trust he earned from clients and the quality of service he proudly provided.
Beyond his professional achievements, Richard was steadfast in his commitment to the community. For 35 years, as a dedicated member of Tri-Village Sertoma, his volunteerism supported countless Central Ohio organizations. His readiness to offer a helping hand, share advice, or simply brighten a room with his smile touched many lives. Richard’s quiet acts of kindness and his deep commitment to service set an example that will continue to inspire his family. .
Richard’s life was marked not only by his professional success but also by his resilience, care, and compassion towards his family and others. Though his absence leaves a void that cannot be filled, his memory lives on in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known him. His legacy, built on love, integrity, and dedication to community, will continue to guide and inspire all who knew him.
He will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
