Richard Lyons Keilholz

Richard Lyons Keilholz, age 94, of Dublin, Ohio, passed Saturday, June 28, 2025 at Dublin Methodist Hospital. Born in Lafayette, Indiana on July 16, 1930 to the late George and Luzelle Keilholz, he was baptized on February 11, 1945 and educated in West Lafayette, Indiana Public Schools. He was a graduate of Purdue University. Richard served in the United States Navy during the Korean War from 1951-1955. Richard married the love of his life, Lois Miller in O’Neill, Nebraska on July 11, 1955. He would be confirmed on August 22, 1962 at St. John Lutheran Church in Lexington, Kentucky and would later become a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Marysville, Ohio and most recently, at St. John Lutheran Church in Dublin. Richard was employed with Sears Roebuck Company for 36 years before his retirement. He was privileged to be part of Honor Flight in 2014. Active in his community, he served on the Central Ohio Mission Association, transported veterans to area VA hospitals, volunteered at Lutheran Social Services Food Pantries in Columbus, delivered Meals on Wheels to area seniors, and was a volunteer with the American Red Cross. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Marjorie, and his daughter Ann Keilholz. He is survived by his devoted wife Lois, sons and daughters-in-law John and Susie, and Jim and Karyn; his grandchildren Emily (Mark) Stevenson, Jennifer (Eric) Thiewes, John Keilholz, Jr., Ben (Emma) Keilholz, and Jacob (Alyssa) Keilholz, and his great-grandchildren Baylee, Everlee, William and Ashlee Stevenson and Lillian, Penelope, and Harold Thiewes.

A Memorial Service will be held 1:00p.m. WEDNESDAY, JULY 9, 2025 at ST. JOHN LUTHERAN CHURCH, 6135 Rings Road, Dublin, OH 43016 (614)889-2284 with Pastor Adam Steinbrenner, officiating. Entombment at Union Cemetery, Columbus, OH, will be held privately by the family.

The family requests the omission of flowers and requests memorial donations be made in Richard’s name to Lutheran Social Services Food Pantry, PO Box 182010, Columbus, OH 43218-2010.
