Richard "Dick" Abel

Richard (Dick) C. Abel went to be with his Lord and Savior on June 17, 2026, just two days shy of his 85th birthday. Richard was the only child of Leonard and Helen Abel of Oaklyn, NJ. He was a faithful husband and father who loved the Lord, his family, and his church. His over 40 years of Christian education and administration across 4 states impacted many. As an only child, he displayed faithful service to his own father for many years and was a loyal caregiver to his wife Rosemary as her health declined. Richard enjoyed almost 51 years of marriage to Rosemary Abel. He was a father to four daughters and a grandfather to sixteen grandchildren and six great grandsons.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 27 at Dublin Baptist Church (7195 Coffman Road, Dublin, OH). Family members will receive guests at 3 p.m. with the service starting at 4 p.m. A private reception for family will immediately follow.
