Richard Clark

Richard Jon Clark “Dick”, born on December 25, 1935, passed away on September 2, 2026. Born to Selwyn and Helen and resided in Etna, Ohio. Preceded in death by Shirley, his wife of 68 years, his brother Paul and parents Helen and Selwyn. A resident of Hilliard since 1960 and with a handful of local men, they built Hamilton Park in 1967, where he and Bob Fiets operated and managed for over 40 years when Hamilton Park was donated to HBA and a new eight diamond facility was built. He and Bob continued operations until the city took over. Dick was a member of Kiwanis Club, where he and Shirley helped over the Children Charity Christmas Program for many years. Dick was inducted into The Columbus, Ohio Softball Hall of Fame. Under the direction of Mayor Reynolds, he spent over 30 years in Parks & Recreation helping to develop Hilliard sporting programs. Dick’s early years were spent as an Apprentice for The Booster, then spent the remainder of his career in sales for Harper Engraving & Printing. Dick’s love of Hilliard resonated in everything he did. He will forever be remembered as a pioneer in the growth of Hilliard. Survived by son Mike (Cathy), daughters Debbie and Linda (Kyle), grandchildren Theodore Anthony (Kim) Echemann, Michael (Annabel) Lombardi, Gabe (Amber) Lombardi, Andrew Clark, Dan (Mikaela) Clark, Meghin (Ryan) Lombardi, Chris (Hannah) Lombardi, Whitney (Andrew) Carlson and Amanda Clark, great grandchildren Aubrey, Brody, Taylor Echemann, Maverick Clark, Kaliyah Baer, Kinsley Lombardi Baer, Gunner, Colt and Savannah Carlson. Family will receive friends from 3pm- 6pm on Friday, September 11, 2026 at the TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, OH 43026.
