Randy Lawrence Greener, age 76, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on March 12, 2026, after a short battle with cancer. He was born and raised in Euclid, Ohio.
Randy graduated from Lutheran High School East and attended Cleveland State Community College and Northeast Bible Institute in Green Lane PA. He graduated from the International Bible College in San Antonio, TX with a Ministerial Diploma. Randy worked for Lubrizol Corporation in Wickliffe, OH; Joske's Department Store in San Antonio, TX; and managed a shoe store in Laredo, TX. He spent many years as a charismatic and hard-working shoe salesman for Szabo's Shoes in Rocky River, OH where he met friends who became like family. He married the love of his life, Yvonne, on February 21, 1975. He affectionately called her "his angel" and they had their only child, Debra, whom he always referred to as "kiddo." Randy was also blessed with a son (Scott) from a previous marriage.
Randy was a man of faith and he and Yvonne attended Harvest Assembly of God. He was always up for singing a good baritone gospel song and loved all things nature and animals. He found comfort exploring local parks and trails with his wife. Randy was a jokester at heart and enjoyed making his friends and family laugh. He retained so much trivia that he once called himself the "Master of Useless Information."
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lillian and Fred Greener and his beloved dog Pekoe. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Yvonne (Magnon) Greener, children Debra (Mark) McGinnis and Scott (Tammy) Dugan, grandchildren Kennedy and Marly McGinnis, Matthew and Audrey Dugan, younger brother Robert (Sandy) Greener, niece Laura (Zahar) Keselman and nephew Josh Greener.
To honor Randy's private and understated manner, an informal remembrance was already held. The family wishes to thank the kind and loving Doctors and Nurses at Doctor's West Hospital in Columbus, OH for creating a pain-free space where Randy could finally hug the Lord he loved so much.
