Pierrette "Petie" Reed

July 29, 1939 — April 6, 2026

Pierrette “Petie” Catherine Reed, age 86, passed away April 6, 2026. "Petie" was born in Hamm, Luxembourg to Theophile and Marguerite Bach (Welter). There she lived along with her younger brother, Benard (Christiane) until meeting her husband, Daniel J. Reed. They married June 10, 1961. Daniel was a career sergeant and Petie was by his side as his strong and beautiful wife, until his death, April 10, 2024. They lived in many places, as one would, living in the military.... France, Germany, Florida, Virginia, New York, and Ohio, where they raised their two children, Ann (Randy) Mayfield and Patrick (Shelly) Reed. They moved to Pittsburgh, PA and lived there until they retired, moving to Hilliard, Ohio to be closer to their grandchildren. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother to her grandchildren, Kylie Mayfield, Mackenna (Tyler) Harman, and Aidan Mayfield.  She was known for her generous spirit and her strong faith in the Catholic church. In Stow, Ohio, she was active in her parish and volunteered in school functions. She cooked for the priests for a short time. In Pittsburgh, she was a eucharistic minister and sang in the choir. Among her many interests in her life, she loved bowling and competed fiercely reaching a 299 score. The job she was most proud of was creating a lovely home for her family. She was a great cook and known for her roulade, but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved shopping and spending "Dad's" money on her kids and grandkids. Petie was preceded in death by her dear husband, parents, and infant son Michael. She leaves behind to cherish the memories, her children, grandchildren, brother, and soon to be great grand-daughter. She is also leaving behind a large family of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. We would like to extend our thanks to the staff at Dublin Assisted Living who treated her as family and made her feel loved during her residency. Also, to Capital City Hospice for making this transition meaningful and peaceful. Family will receive friends from 10 am- 11 am Friday, April 17, 2026 at ST. BRIGID OF KILDARE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 7179 Avery Road, Dublin, OH 43017, where Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11 am with Father James P. Black, Celebrant. Private family inurnment will be held at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, OH.
