Pamela “Penny” (Miles) Woodruff, born May 28, 1945, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on September 6, 2022. Penny was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cornelia “Izzy” and Robert C. Miles. Penny is survived by her devoted husband of 56 years, Tim Woodruff, and her three children, Eric (Christine) Woodruff, Mark Woodruff, and Kay (Aaron) Richardson; grandchildren Derik, Jesse (deceased), and Megan Woodruff, Ella and Clara Richardson; great grandchildren; brother, Robert “Bobby” G. Miles, and many more cherished family and lifelong friends.
Penny graduated from Hilliard High School in 1963 and then from Ohio University as a speech and hearing therapist. She loved staying at home to raise her children and was very involved in the daily lives of her grandkids. With a heart for children, Penny was active in the Parent Teacher Organization and the Child Conservation League. We will miss her sunny disposition, infectious laughter, and genuine warmth. Her greatest joy was in taking care of others. Her generosity and selfless nature made everyone around her feel valued and loved. We find comfort knowing that in her time of need she was held up in prayer and is now at peace.
The family will have a gathering at the Tidd Funeral Home in Hilliard on Friday, September 16th, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cure Alzheimer's Fund, Hospice of Central Ohio, or the Hilliard Historical Society.
