Patrick Day

Patrick Day, 55, died suddenly February 19, 2026, in Hilliard, Ohio. Patrick Day was the loving husband of Debi Owens, and the proud father of three children, Alexandra (Seattle WA), Patrick, and Andrea. 

Day, born 1970, was the son of Carol Varga (Bob) and Patrick Day (Patricia). He was brother toLynne Day (Tim Schwartz), Laura Malone (John), Jeffrey (Audrey), Terence (Theresa), Timothy, and Scott. He was also uncle, Big Pat, to fifteen nephews and nieces, cousin many times over, and friend to many.

Day was with Diamond Hill Investment Group the last seven years as Senior Application Developer/Architect and previously at Nationwide as a computer specialist. An avid sports fan, especially of the Ohio State football and basketball teams and of the Cleveland Browns. He supported all of his children in their sports, all three playing college ball, the daughters softball, at Ohio University and Akron University, and his son football, at Bowling Green State University. He himself played football at Berkshire High School, Burton, Ohio, the coach declaring Patrick, at 135 pounds, “the best tackler on the team, pound for pound”. Family and all who knew him enjoyed his sense of humor, his skillful artwork, his photography, and his various construction pieces. He loved to read and share his books, he loved to bring people together, especially near water, renting a house and boat, for vacation time, for tubing, for leisurely boat rides, followed by card games and beer, Budweiser, of course, for him.

Visitation Tuesday, February 24, 4-7 PM, at Tidd Family Funeral Home, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, Ohio, 43026. Viewing at 10:30 AM prior to the Funeral Mass at 11 AM, Wednesday, February 25, at St. Brendan Church, 475 Dublin Rd., Hilliard, Ohio. Luncheon following Mass at Beef O’Brady’s in Hilliard. Celebration of Life later in Cleveland, Ohio, at a time to be determined.
