Noretta Shaw

Noretta Shaw, age 88, of Columbus, passed away on December 10, 2025. She was born on June 2, 1937 in Hazard, Kentucky to the late Earnest and Effie (Collins) Gibson. Noretta was a longtime employee for Columbus’ telephone companies, first for Ohio Bell and then later for AT&T, until she retired in 1991. She loved being around her family, playing cards, painting, reading, and watching movies on television. She was also an avid Buckeye football fan.

Noretta was preceded in death by her parents, her two sisters, Creta and Freeda, her husband Fred, and her son Michael.

She is survived by her son Dennis, daughter-in-law, Cynthia, and her grandchildren, Thomas, Sierra, and Tyler.

The family will receive friends on SUNDAY, DECEMBER 21, 2025 from 2:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m. at TIDD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich Street, Hilliard, Ohio, 43026 (614)-876-1722.  Her Memorial Service will begin at 3:00p.m.
