Neil Smith

Neil Edwin Smith, age 54, of Columbus, passed away November 15, 2023. Neil was a fighter from day one.  He was dealt a hand that most don't survive.  He met and passed each roadblock that was thrown his way.  Neil was saved while recently on the ventilator in the hospital and was baptized.  Today he gets to walk, maybe even run for the first time ever, to the open arms of his Savior; no crutches, no wheelchair and no worries.  What a testimony he has left. Neil was a Graduate of Hilliard High School Class of 1989. He was the Easter Seal Poster Child in his young life, representing with pro-football player Archie Griffin. Neil worked 10 years at Dave and Busters, loved the rock group KISS and knew all their songs. He never lost his sense of humor.

Preceded in death by mother Delphia (Conley) Smith and brother James Willie Smith. Survived by Elder Charles Smith, siblings Calvin (Jackie) Smith, Karen (Jack) Cordle, Darrell (Patty) Smith, Harold Smith and Anthony (Chris) Smith, many nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends for a visitation on Monday, November 20, 2023 from 4pm-7pm at the TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, OH 43026. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at 11am with Pastor Steve Hicks, Pastor of Hayden Run Baptist Church officiating. Interment at Big Darby Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Spina Bifida Association of Columbus.
