Nancy Lynn Williams, 72, of Westerville,Ohio passed away on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at St. Anne’s Hospital.  She was born in Columbus, Ohio on October 18, 1949  to the late Dwight and Ollie (Gardner) Williams.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Joe Williams; her husband, Roger Starrett; aunts and uncles:  Rose Rinehart, Chet Rinehart, John Gardner, Beatrice and Walter Morse, Raymond and Mary Adelia Lewis,and cousin, Glen Lewis.

 

Nancy graduated from Jonathan Alder in 1968 and was a member of the Varsity football and basketball cheerleading squad for four years. She also was a member of GGA and spirit squads.  Nancy attended Otterbein College for a year and joined the Sigma Alpha Tau Sorority (Owls). After leaving Otterbein, she worked for The Ohio State University. Nancy remained an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan her entire life. She found her life's work with the Ohio Bell Corporation starting as an operator and working her way up through the various office levels.  She retired from AT&T after 32 years with the company. She met and married Roger Starrett and they initially lived in Columbus, Ohio and then moved to South Carolina.  Following the passing of her husband, Nancy relocated to Westerville, Ohio.

 

In retirement, Nancy became a member of the Journey Church of Westerville, Ohio where she participated in the women’s bible study and fellowship groups.  Nancy was an avid needlepoint enthusiast and overall crafter.  She loved to create, give and donate her skillfully crafted projects to family and friends. During the past two years, she has been a resident of the Sugar Grove Square Apartments of Westerville, where she made and developed close friendships.  She became an active member of the community playing Friday night bingo and participating in the weekly coffee group.

 

A loving, devoted and wonderful wife and sister, Nancy will be dearly missed by her family.  She is survived by her sisters Joyce Williams and John Lynch of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; Kathy Williams of Columbus, Ohio; sister-in-law Laura Hitchcock Williams of South Carolina; aunt of Brandon (Rita) Williams and Jessica Williams and Alex Adel, sister-in-law Vicky McKillip of Westerville, Ohio and stepchildren Nicholas Starrett, Jennifer (David) Gaiser, Rebecca (Chuck) Crance; step grandchildren Matthew Starrett, Marybeth Crance, Joseph Crance and Violet Crance and several cousins.

 

A memorial service is pending and will be scheduled in the near future.  Her interment will be at Plumwood Cemetery, London, Ohio. Condolences and memories may be expressed to the family at www.tiddfuneralservice.com
