After living more than 83 wonderful years, Nancy Ridenour Anders passed away on May 28, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Nancy now celebrates a joyful reunion with her husband of 63 years, John “Jack” Anders; love never dies.
Nancy was born on December 18, 1941, the 10th and youngest child of Emory M. and Elsie Francis Ridenour. She spent a happy childhood in London, Ohio, where she would eventually raise her family. A natural caretaker, Nancy was a graduate of Mercy Practical Nursing School.
Immediately after graduating and turning 18, she married her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, Jack. In their union, Jack and Nancy had five unique and beloved children, Desiree (Peter) Daroczy, Jon (Michelle) Anders, Ben (Terry) Anders, Kirsten (Kelley) Kimley, and Elise (Ari) Altman. She had 12—favorite—grandchildren, depending on who asked: Adrienne Lipstraw, Allegra (Pat) Inman and Alexandria (Marcus) Sprout; Abby, Cassie and Ashton Anders; Addison and Caroline Anders; Levi and Lea Kimley; and Jack and Seth Altman.
Wife, Mom, and Grandma were her favorite titles, and she was over the moon to be adding Great-Grandma to the list later this year. She has three great-granddaughters on the way.
Nancy appreciated the little things. She traveled the world with Jack in the passenger seat, stopping at as many landmarks as possible along the way. All 12 grandkids were blessed with an involved Grandma who never missed an opportunity to cheer them on at an event, take a few (shaky) pictures, and admire their accomplishments every step of the way.
She is remembered for her enthusiastic embrace of life, her welcoming home, her old-fashioned heart, her comforting soul, her detailed stories, and her unyielding love of her family and friends. She leaves a large space that we will attempt to fill with beautiful memories in emulation of her.
In addition to Jack, Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law John Lipstraw; brothers Otmer, Raymond, Russell, Cecil, and Paul; sisters Dorma, Velma, and Evelyn; many nieces, nephews, and close cousins on the Francis side. Alongside her children and grandchildren, Nancy is survived by sister Hester Ann and close friend Barb Davis. Nancy is a member of the First Presbyterian Church in London.
Please join us in celebrating Nancy’s life on Sunday, June 1 at the Tidd Family Funeral Home (5265 Norwich Street, Hilliard). Visitation will be held from 12 to 3 pm with services immediately following. There will be a private family burial at a later date.
“The belief you are loved and a life well-lived are gifts we want to leave our children, as my mother and father left me.”
