Myrtle Marie Stephens

Myrtle Marie Stephens, passed away on April 18, 2023, in the presence of family members at Ohio Health Dublin Methodist Hospital. She was born in Columbus, Ohio in 1945 and was a lifelong resident of Franklin County. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Myrtle Odessa Francis and Cyrus Arthur Francis, brother James Arthur Francis, infant brother Jackie Glenn Francis, infant sister Barbara Sue Francis and brother- in- law Darby Robert Corwin. Her brother Edward Dean Francis, 14 months her senior, died less than 24 hours after her passing. 

Marie is survived by her loving husband of 50 years J. Fred Stephens, sister Judith Mae Corwin, sister- in- law Linda Lee Francis, son Edward Fred Stephens (Stephanie), grandchildren Emily and Michael Stephens, step-son J. Greg Stephens (Suzie), step-daughter Laurie Stephens and her two daughters, Laura Lanning and Jennifer Lanning plus many nieces and nephews and her beloved dog Snickerdoodle. 

Marie loved spending time with family and her friends at Stone Oak, she enjoyed listening to country music, admiring artwork by Thomas Kincade, vacations in the Smoky mountains, and valued time with her young grandchildren. Some of her most cherished memories consist of trips to Hawaii, the family reunion at Myrtle Beach, Pigeon Forge, TN, a trip to Paris, and trips on Carnival Cruise Lines with Greg & Suzie and Judy & Darby. 

A Memorial service for Marie will be held at Stone Oak Retirement Community in Hilliard, OH on Saturday 4/22/2023 at 2 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Northwest Christian Church, 1340 Fishinger Road, Upper Arlington, OH, 43221, or other charity of your choice.
