Mark Katzenbach

Mark S. Katzenbach passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at the OhioHealth Hospice House in Columbus, Ohio, surrounded by loved ones. He was born on May 17, 1963, at St. Anne’s Hospital to his loving parents, Max and Merle Katzenbach.

Mark was a graduate of Worthington High School, Class of 1981. He was preceded in death by his father, Max Katzenbach, and his sister, Marcia (Katzenbach) Dollery.

He is survived by his devoted mother, Merle (Jolley) Katzenbach; his son, Shawn Thomas; his nephew, Mitch Dollery (Jennifer); and his great-nephews, Micah Dollery and Malik Dollery.

Mark spent much of his life serving the Shawnee Hills community. He began his career at The Bogey Inn and later dedicated over two decades of service to the Village of Shawnee Hills, working as a Code Enforcement and Zoning Compliance Officer from 2003 until 2025. His commitment to his work and his community was evident throughout his career.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Mark’s life at a Celebration of Life gathering hosted by his family on Sunday, May 17, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Third Base Pint House – Powell, located at 9215 Dublin Road, Powell, Ohio 43065.

He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
