Jeffrey Davis

Jeffrey E Davis, 71, of Columbus, passed away peacefully January 15, 2024. He was born May 30, 1952 to Wayne and Juanita (Eversole) Davis.

Jeff loved visiting his farm cousins as a young boy, hoping to be a farmer someday.  He was a good student and graduated from Whitehall-Yearling High School in 1970. He went on to study Horticulture at The Ohio State University and graduated in 1974. He enjoyed landscape sales and the many industry friends he made along the way.  He met his wife, Ann during this time. He was proud of many significant jobs he was involved with through the years and was a past president of the Ohio Nursery and Landscape Association. After 25 years in the industry, he moved to a distribution position with the GAP and continued to form many relationships that he cherished.

Jeff is survived by his wife, Ann (Shealy) whom he married on March 3, 1990, and their sons, A Mitchell Davis and R Donovan Davis, all of Columbus. Also surviving are brother-in-law Steve Clippinger, in-laws Dan & Susan Shealy, Doug & Candy Shealy and Tim (Michelle Barker) Shealy. Jeff had 5 nieces, Caroline (Josh Boggs) Clippinger and son Ethan, Rebecca Clippinger, Lauren (Art) Warren and daughter Callum, Lydia (Jordan) Herrnstein and son Jaxon and Paige Shealy.  He also had one nephew, Adam (Morgan Didion) Shealy and son Oliver and many wonderful cousins.

In addition to his parents, Jeff was proceeded in death by his father and mother-in-law, Don and Pat Shealy and his beautiful sister, Jennifer Clippinger.

The Tidd Funeral Home at 5265 Norwich Street in Hilliard, Ohio will have Calling Hours on Saturday, January 20 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm with a Memorial Service beginning at 2:00 pm. Guests attending the memorial service are asked to dress in OSU gear or colors, in the spirit of a life well-lived. The family requests donations to The Chadwick Arboretum in lieu of flowers in Jeff’s name.
