Janet Bowman

Janet Yvonne Bowman, age 94, of Hilliard, OH, passed away surrounded by loved ones on Sunday, February 22, 2026. Janet was born on Aug. 4, 1931 in Columbus, OH to Ivor Wiseman and Mabel Hull, and she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great‑grandmother, and friend. She grew up attending Columbus South High School (class of 1949) and later worked 25+ years for Columbus Public Schools, where she built lasting relationships and took pride in her work. Janet was an avid football and sports fan, following the Buckeyes, and loved to watch any sporting or school event her family was involved in.

She is survived by her daughter Bonita (Bonnie) Decker and Bonnie’s husband Earl (Skip) Decker; her son Mike Bowman; and her son Mark Bowman and his wife Sandi Bowman. She was a loving grandmother to Bonnie’s children—Jamie (Angie), Jeff (Lauren), and Jenny (Chance)—and to Mark’s children, Jason and Jacob. She cherished her great‑grandchildren—Rehn, Reese, Mara, Gavin, Jackson, Judah, and Blake—who all knew her affectionately as Gigi. Her family was the center of her world, and she poured her heart into every generation.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband Erwin (Pat) Bowman; her brother Lewie Miller, sister-in-law Linda Miller; and her half-sister Nora Mae. Her legacy of kindness, strength, and unconditional love lives on through those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Services will be held on Tuesday, March 3rd at Tidd Funeral Home, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, OH 43026, with calling hours from 11am-Noon. Memorial service will commence at Noon and finish at Sunset Cemetery in Galloway.
