James "Jim" William Hoobler

James "Jim" William Hoobler, age 78, of Columbus, passed away September 22, 2026. He was a member of the US Army National Guard for six years. Jim retired from Caterpillar with 48 years of service. James was an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending time with family and friends at Lake Cumberland.

He was preceded in death by parents William and Betty Hoobler and brothers David and Daryl. 

Jim is survived by loving wife of 58 years, Lana; children Jill (Erik Roush) Hoobler, and Kay Hoobler; brother Wayne (Janice) Hoobler; grandchildren, Wesley VanDyne, Eva and Robert Roush; and many loving relatives and friends. 

Family will receive friends FRIDAY, October 2, 2026, from 5pm-7pm at the TIDD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, OH 43026.
