Jack Rogers

December 12, 1939 — October 18, 2025

Bucyrus, Ohio

It is with profound sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Jack Rogers, who took God’s hand on October 18, 2025 after a courageous fight with Lymphoma.

Jack was born on December 12, 1939, in Bluffton Ohio, to Roy and Ladonna Rogers. He grew up in Bluffton and attended Cory Rawson High School where he met his wife, Alice Blackburn. The high school sweethearts were married on April 1, 1960. They may have been married on April Fool’s Day, but their love for one another was no joke. Through all the obstacles of life, they were able to celebrate 65 years of marriage this year and together they raised three wonderful children.

He spent his younger years working on the family farm in Bluffton, Ohio and attended Bowling Green College. He then moved his family to Hilliard, Ohio to begin his successful career in sales. Most memorably at Velvet Ice Cream for 30 years. Even after retiring, he couldn’t sit still for long—he loved staying busy and later helped shuttle cars for a local dealership, enjoying the chance to keep moving and meet new people.

Jack never met a stranger. With his easy smile, quick wit, and genuine interest in others, he had a way of making everyone feel like an old friend. He will be remembered for the joy he brought to every room, the stories that made us laugh, and the kindness that made you feel at home. His warmth and love will live on in those who were fortunate to know him—but most of all, he will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family and the legacy he leaves behind.

Jack is survived by his beloved wife, Alice Rogers; brother, John D. Rogers; children, Bob Rogers (Nancy), Susan Yount (Kevin), John Rogers (Gina); seven grandchildren, Shannon Brown (Alex), Haley Curfman (Connor), Chelsea Windle (Kevin), Kyle Rogers, Matthew Rogers (Taylor), Michelle Rogers, Lauren Salmons (Alex); and seven great grandchildren, Moree Curfman, Ivy Brown, Bentley Curfman, Thea Brown, Addison Curfman, Tate Curfman and Lane Windle whom he cherished.

In keeping with Jack’s wishes, the family will honor his memory in a private ceremony and thanks everyone for their kindness and prayers. Donations can be made to the Kobacker House.
