Jack B. Carothers

Jack B. Carothers, age 80, of Hilliard, passed away Wednesday, February 6, 2008. WWII Veteran, retired from the Columbus Fire Department as a medic and firefighter, and volunteered with the Norwich Township Fire Dept. for more than 50 years. He was a member of American Legion Post #614, Hilliard and Avery Lodge F.&A.M. #493. Preceded in death by parents, Charles and Mildred Carothers, grandson, Michael, brother, Chuck, and grandparents. He is survived by loving wife of 60 years, Betty L., children; Mary Lynn (Dick) Carothers, Jack (Debi) Carothers, and Gary (Jill) Carothers, grandchildren; Eddie, Tommy, Kara, Bryan, Brett, Brandon, and Zachary, 14 great grandchildren, niece, Susan, nephew, Chuck, brother-in-law, Richard (Deanna), sister-in-law, Karen, numerous relatives and a host of friends. Friends may call Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8pm at The Tidd Funeral Home 5265 Norwich St. Hilliard where a funeral service will be held at 2pm on Monday with an hour of calling prior to service. Chaplin Larry Reed-Farris officiating. Interment Wesley Chapel Cemetery.
