Helen E. Collier

Helen Elizabeth (Poole) Collier went home to her Heavenly Father on October 15, 2025. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose faith, love, and playful sense of humor touched everyone who knew her.

Helen is survived by her daughters Donna F. Bormuth (Dave) and Anita K. Norris (Jeff); her grandchildren Dennis A. Collier (Tina), Timothy J. Collier, Blake S. Montgomery, Nathan I. Norris, and Jennifer E. Norris; and her many beloved great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her loving sister Carolyn Norton; her cherished nieces Shelley, Lorie, Judy, and Sandy; her nephew Jason; and her great-nieces and great-nephews, along with many cousins and dear friends who will forever hold her close in their hearts.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Ishmal Collier, her son Scott J. Collier, her parents Andrew Poole and Mary Katherine Smith, her brother Andrew Schmitt, her sister Barbara Crotts, and her nephew Dave Norton.

Helen retired from Hilliard City Schools after 23 years of dedicated service. She had a true gift for nurturing children and was affectionately known as “Grandma Collier” to the many students whose lives she touched with warmth, patience, and joy.

Christmas was Helen’s favorite holiday and time of year. She loved making the season special for her family—always ensuring the gifts were plentiful and the memories lasting.

Helen’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and faith. Her devotion to family, compassion for others, and mischievous and ornery spirit will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025, from 5:00–7:00 p.m. at Tidd Funeral Home, Hilliard, Ohio. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Tidd Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor Kevin Meyers with a graveside service to follow at Darby Township Cemetery in Unionville Center, Ohio.
