Gregory Peitz

March 3, 1952 — August 31, 2025

Gregory Allen Peitz, 73, ended his earthly pain on Sunday, August 31st, 2025. He is preceded in death by his parents Evelyn and Earl as well as his daughter Megan, brother Jeff, and his dog Max. He is mourned by his beloved children Tory (Kyle) Kutsko, Jamie Peitz, and their mother Jann Peitz. He is also mourned by many nieces and nephews, countless friends whose names are too many to list, and of course, his loyal dog, Charlie.

Greg was born in Columbus, OH but grew up in Memphis, TN. He returned for his senior year and was a graduate of Whetstone High School. He earned his degree in Natural Resources from The Ohio State University. He enjoyed a long career of public service at MORPC and The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

Greg loved fishing, traveling, and music, and he was always an adventurous eater, eager to try new foods wherever he went. He had a green thumb and loved puttering in the yard when he was able. He had an impressive record collection. He was quite the connoisseur of streaming and could always tell you what was worth watching. He never watched a sports game without coaching from the couch. His flapper never quit flappin’.

Though he carried the heavy burden of chronic back pain and struggles that came with it, his love for his family and his ability to crack a joke never left him. He taught us the importance of remembering small things. He had a huge heart, a quick wit, and a way of leaving every room a little lighter (and a little louder). He had a way of making people laugh, sometimes with the perfectly timed joke, sometimes just by being himself. He was outgoing, funny, and always said exactly what was on his mind – true to himself in every way.

In his honor, tell a joke, lend a hand, cheer a little too loudly at a game, and remember that love is often found in the smallest acts.

Family will receive friends from 2pm-4pm Saturday, September 6, 2025 at the TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, OH 43026; where sharing memories of Greg will follow at 4 pm.
