Gloria Ann Mueller (Clausen), a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2026, in Columbus, Ohio, at the age of 98. Born on January 11, 1928, in Chicago, Illinois, Gloria lived a life filled with love, dedication, and quiet grace.
Gloria was a woman of many interests and talents but always prioritized her family above all else. She created a warm and nurturing home where her children were greeted each morning with a cheerful song as she prepared breakfast. Her days were devoted to ensuring the household was tidy, calm, and peaceful—a sanctuary for her loved ones. Dinner was always ready when her husband returned home from work, and the family came together to share meals and assist with clean-up. These simple yet profound acts of care defined Gloria’s devotion to her family.
An avid reader with an insatiable curiosity about the world, Gloria immersed herself in history and current events through the pages of *National Geographic* and the daily newspaper. Her thirst for knowledge was matched by her determination to learn new things. In her retirement years from homemaking, she explored the family genealogy when the internet was brand new and she taught herself Mahjong by watching YouTube videos, —a testament to her remarkable adaptability and lifelong love of learning.
One of Gloria’s greatest joys was round dancing and square dancing with her husband John of 61 years. Together they shared countless evenings dancing with friends, followed by coffee and cake—a cherished tradition that brought them happiness and connection. These moments reflected Gloria’s appreciation for life’s simple pleasures and her ability to find joy in community.
Gloria’s quiet yet impactful life extended beyond her immediate family. She will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren, friends, neighbors at Trillium, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy is one of love, kindness, and steadfast devotion to those she held dear. Mother of Gloria, William, Carole and Janet. Grandmother of 9, great-grandmother of 14.
Our family's heartfelt thanks to Sherril at Trillium and her marvelous loving team of caregivers.
May Gloria Ann Mueller’s memory bring comfort to all who mourn her passing and inspire those who remember her enduring spirit.
Memorial and internment are scheduled later this year at Wesley Chapel.
