Gloria J. Fike

Gloria J. Fike (90), of Hilliard, OH passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2023.  Gloria was born in Cambridge, OH on February 12, 1933 to Martin and Helen (Siegfried) Thompson.  She is survived by her beloved husband of almost 69 years Al Fike; her children, Bill Fike, Margaret (Patrick) Malone and Lisa (Bill) Barrett; her grandchildren, Samantha Malone, Shannon Malone, Trent (Ashley) Emmons, Maggie Emmons, Brandi, Devin and Kassi; her great grandchildren, Matthew and Maisie Emmons and her sister Judy Kaufman.  Gloria was preceded in death by her parents and 11 brothers and sisters. 

Gloria worked for 25 years for the Ashland Samaritan Hospital as an outpatient coordinator.  She enjoyed a friendship/membership with a Ladies Friendship group with the State Highway Department.  She also was a lady of faith serving happily at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Ashland and for the last many years at Resurrection Lutheran Church in Hilliard.  Gloria was a model wife and mother caring for her family all her life.  She and Al were busy folks.  It was said a few years ago that they were 80 going on 60!  It was a humor statement that if the children wanted to see them, they had to make an appointment.  Gloria loved life.  She painted many figurines, crocheted, loved bicycling, golf, baking, and spent multiple hours socializing with friends.  She has left a legacy of integrity, faith, love and friendship and will be deeply missed. 

The family will receive friends for a visitation and funeral for Gloria at Tidd Funeral Home, 5265 Norwich St. in Hilliard, OH on Thursday, April 20, 2023.  Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM and a service will follow at 12:00 PM.  Gloria will be laid to rest at the Ashland County Memorial Park in Ashland.
