Gayle Benson

Gayle Ellen Benson, 75, of Hilliard, Ohio passed away peacefully on October 8, 2026, at Dublin Glenn Memory Care after a long journey with Alzheimer’s disease. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dwight and Retha (Bachelder) Benson. She is survived by her wife, Alzada (Zee) Minetti and her beloved cat, Howie, her brother, Walter, (Karen) Benson of Mt. Gilead, Ohio, her sister, Jeannine (Robert) Bates of Moscow, Idaho. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews. She graduated from Mt. Gilead High School and received a degree in Criminal Justice from Eastern Kentucky University. Gayle served as Chief of Probation for the Delaware Municipal Court for the majority of her career. During that time, she received the Delaware Municipal Court Employee of the Year Award and the Dr. Simon Dinitz Award from Ohio Community Corrections Organization. Gayle had many friends who will remember her incredible sense of humor, love of music, Legos and her willingness to help others. There will be no service per Gayle’s wishes. There will be a private family gathering. For those who wish, contributions may be made in her name to Cozy Cat Cottage in Powell, Ohio.
