Gary Swenson

Gary B. Swenson, age 81, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away at home on Wednesday, August 5, 2026. Born in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Lloyd and Estelle Swenson, Gary was a graduate of Mentor High School, Class of 1962. He was a retired Sales Engineer with the Flender Corporation. A former member of the Ohio Bowler's Association, Gary was an avid bowler and golfer. A true sports fan, he loved following the Cleveland Browns, Indians, Cavaliers, Columbus Blue Jackets, and The Ohio State Buckeyes. Gary ran a marathon and he enjoyed fishing with his sons. He built our family home in Concord Township, Ohio. He loved renovating and carpentry. He was an avid reader. An excellent cook, he loved baking cookies and bread and he perfected a great salsa recipe! In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his brothers Lloyd Swenson, Frank Swenson, and Kurt Swenson. He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Becky Swenson, his sons Sean Swenson and Eric Swenson, his grandson James West, sister Carole Swenson, and his nieces, nephews, and friends. Gary's family will be holding a Celebration of Life Gathering at the home of their dear friends on SUNDAY, AUGUST 23, 2026 from 1:00p.m.-4:00p.m. Those interested in attending are most welcome.
