Fred E. Bowman

Fred Bowman passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at the OhioHealth Hospice House in Columbus, Ohio. He was born on February 28, 1941 to Harold and Genell (Guy) Bowman and graduated from Hilliard High School, Class of 1959. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, his parents, his brothers Harold R. Bowman and Gary Bowman, his sisters-in-law Joyce and Eloise, and his ex-wife Pat Felty.

Surviving are his loving wife of 49 years, Karen Bowman, his sons Terry Bowman and Scott (Divinia) Bowman, his daughters Heidi (Albert) Niska and Heather (Tyler) Coursen, his brother Richard Bowman, and his sister-in-law Jane Dickson. He is also survived by his beloved ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, and by his many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A dedicated member of the Loyal Oder of the Moose for thirty years, Fred held active memberships in Hilliard Lodge #2236 and Indian Lake Lodge #1533. He achieved his Pilgrim Degree of Merit in 2016. Through the Moose, he was a passionate supporter of the Special Olympics and the Franklin County Fair.

Fred was a life-long member of St. John Lutheran Church in Dublin, Ohio.

He retired from the Dublin Schools in 2012.

Family will receive friends from 4:00p.m.-7:00p.m. MONDAY at the TIDD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich Street, Hilliard, OH 43026 (614)-876-1722 where a Pilgrim Service will be held at 6:30p.m. MONDAY and where Funeral Services will be held 1:00 p.m. TUESDAY, MAY 12, 2026 with Pastor Adam Steinbrenner, officiating. Fred will be laid to rest immediately after the service at Wesley Chapel Cemetery.
