Florence Lucille (''Pete'') Rogers, age 96 passed away on January 2, 2017 at the Friendship Village HeaIth Center where she had resided since 2007. She was born to Walter and Claudia Abbott in Clarksburg, WV on August 3, 1920. After high school she enrolled in nurse's training and became an RN. She was employed by the Owens-lllinois Glass Co in WV where she met her future husband, Charles Eugene Rogers. Lucille enlisted in the Navy and proudly served as a nurse during WW II After the war, she and Gene moved to Toledo, OH, where they raised two sons. Lucille's home was always beautifully decorated. Her love of homes and interior decorating let her to get her real-estate license and sell homes for a number of years in the Toledo area. She and Gene were members of Epworth UMC while in Toledo. On Gene's retirement they bought a motor home, spending winders in Tucson, AZ before settling down in Columbus where they joined Worthington UMC and made many new friends. Preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and Gene, she is survived by sons Doug (Debbie) and Dave (Christy) of Columbus, grandchildren Dustin and Jennifer Rogers, both of Columbus, daughter-in-law Tammy Rogers of Sabina, OH, nieces Roberta Lynch of MD, and Sandee Miles of FL and nephew Walter Lynch and family of ID. Private family services and inurnment with military honors will be at a later date.
