Ernest Massart

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ernest “Ernie” Massart, age 70, who passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family.

A graduate of Hilliard High School, Ernie dedicated much of his life to serving others and building meaningful relationships. In his younger years, he proudly served his community as an EMT and firefighter in Plain City, demonstrating a commitment to helping others that remained with him throughout his life.

Ernie enjoyed a successful career in sales, culminating in his retirement as Senior Vice President of Sales for ABS Money Systems in March of this year. He was respected by colleagues and friends for his leadership, integrity, work ethic, and ability to connect with people from all walks of life.

Above all else, Ernie was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He is survived by his loving wife, Jennifer Massart; his daughters, Vanessa Curtis (Orion Curtis) and Savannah Massart; his sons, JJ Wilson (Brooke Wilson) and Damon Massart (Sierra Massart); and his cherished grandchildren, Quinn, Harper, Coraline, and Violet.

He is also survived by his sisters, Brenda Morris and Georgia Robbins.

Ernie had a passion for motorcycles, boating, gardening, and The Ohio State Buckeyes.

Whether riding on the open road, spending time on the water, tending his garden, or cheering on the Buckeyes, he embraced life with enthusiasm and joy.

He was also a devoted dog lover and cherished his beloved Bulldogs, Bertie and Bumble, as well as his grand dogs, Cap, Rosie, and Gibson, all of whom brought him great happiness and companionship.

Ernie will be remembered for his strength, generosity, sense of humor, unwavering dedication to his family, and the countless lives he touched through his career, community service, and friendships. He gave his family a lifetime of love, laughter, and memories that will be treasured forever.

Ernie was the love of Jennifer’s life, her best friend, and her greatest blessing. His absence will be deeply felt every day, but his love will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him until they meet again.

In lieu of flowers, please consider registering as an organ donor, rescuing a dog in need, or honoring Ernie’s memory through a random act of kindness. These simple gifts reflect the generosity, compassion, and love he shared throughout his life.

Family will receive friends from 5pm-7pm on Friday, June 26, 2026 at the TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, OH 43026; where funeral service will be held at 10am on Saturday, June 27, 2026.
