Dr. Edward J. Huschart, age 71, passed away on April 18, 2026, in Dublin, Ohio.
Ed grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio and was the son of the late Dr. Vincent J. Huschart and the late Helen (nee Mullaney) Huschart. He was brother to the late David Huschart and uncle to the late Daniel Huschart.
Ed was the beloved father of Jessica (Andrew) Miller, Bradley, and Daniel (Amanda) Hickey. He was grandfather to Olivia Hickey. The oldest of six children, Ed will be missed by siblings Paul (Maureen), Jennifer (Joseph) Magro-Espelage, Joseph (Alissa), Matthew (Molly), and sister-in-law Kathleen Huschart. Uncle Ed is also survived by 7 nieces, 8 nephews, 1 great-niece, and 1 great-nephew. Ed’s stepmother, Harriet Huschart, will miss his visits to “The Villages” in Lady Lake, Florida.
Ed graduated from St. Xavier High School in Cincinnati (1972) and from The Ohio State University (1984) with a degree in Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Huschart was a caring, compassionate vet who was loved by all his clients, both furry and human, at the Avery Animal Hospital in Hilliard, Ohio. Being a vet was one of the greatest joys of his life. Over the years, he had many pets in his home including dogs, cats, birds, fish, and reptiles.
He loved outdoor activities like running (he completed multiple marathons- Boston, Big Sur, Flying Pig Cincinnati, Mesa Arizona, Columbus, etc.), sailing, gardening, biking, and golfing. He looked forward every year to the Huschart Open that his father started in 1986 for him and his sons (the boys often bragged that they already had a nail in the wall to hang the plaque that was awarded over a celebratory meal of Cincinnati Chili 3-ways!). Initially, there was a side competition for the most obnoxious golf outfit... ED-weird often won! Father and sons golfed in the outing in Tennessee with their Uncle Jack Skahan for 25 years.
Ed will be missed by many who have been wonderful friends and contributed greatly to his enjoyment of life. May they think of Ed and toast about his desire to live life to the fullest and know that he loved and valued their companionship.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2026, between the hours of 12:00 and 3:00 at The Goat, Dublin (off Hayden Run Rd) 5730 Silver Falls St, Dublin Ohio.
Ed’s wishes were for everyone to gather, lift a glass, laugh and enjoy memories.
