Edward "Ed" Erdy

Edward “Ed” S. Erdy, a jovial and charismatic man, peacefully passed at home while surrounded by loved ones Saturday, August 16, 2025 in Dublin, OH. He was 86 years old. Mr. Erdy, the son of Ann H. Erdy and Joseph P. Erdy, was born in Athens County, OH. A 1957 graduate from Jacksonville Trimble High School where he met his wife of 67 years, Barbara Ann Paskievitch. They embarked on their great love story in 1958 - getting married and starting their family. Soon after, they moved to Hilliard, OH where they raised their six children.

Mr. Erdy loved his church, St. Brendans, where he was an usher for years. He coached little league sports for Hilliard Youth, was a member of Agonis and the Trimble Local Textbooks Foundation. As an Anheuser-Busch retiree, he loved telling stories from his glory days- he sure did love his Budweiser. He loved cheering on his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren at numerous activities, events, and other milestones. He loved watching The Buckeyes, the Cincinnati Reds and the Cleveland Browns.

Big Ed, a proud Hungarian, always had a comb handy for his ever famous white hair, loved making cabbage rolls, nut rolls, beef and noodles, and sitting in his chair on the driveway with a fridge full of beer for anyone that stopped by. His cooking brought his loved ones together and his recipes will be passed down for generations to come. His greatest joy was being present for his family. And his greatest love was Barbara - falling asleep every night hand-in-hand.

He is survived by his beautiful wife, Barbara, and his devoted children, Tricia (Mike) Roderick, Todd (Beth) Erdy, Tina (JD) Fritz, Tonya Bolden and Tom Erdy; ten grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; sisters-in-law Marie Paskievitch and Anne Paskievitch; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two children, Teresa Erdy Vinoverksi and Timothy Erdy; granddaughter Bridgette Bolden; in-laws Joseph and Janet Paskievitch, Frank Paskievitch, and Bill Drake.

His family will receive family and friends at Tidd Funeral Home in Hilliard, Ohio, Sunday, August 24th from 3:00pm to 6:00pm. A funeral mass will be held at St Brendan’s Church in Hilliard, Ohio on Monday, August 25th at 11:30am. There will be a visitation from 10:30am to 11:30am prior to the mass. In loving memory of Ed, the family invites you to a luncheon in the church hall immediately following the funeral.
