Duane R. Schirtzinger

Duane R. Schirtzinger, age 93, of Dublin, Ohio, passed away at home on Monday, February 8, 2021. Born in Columbus, Ohio to the late John and Mabel (Reed) Schirtzinger, Duane was a graduate of Columbus Linden-McKinley High School, Class of 1945. He was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard and served his country during WWII. Duane was a building inspector with the City of Worthington and the City of Columbus for many years before his retirement. He attended St. John’s Lutheran Church in Dublin. In addition to his parents, Duane was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 72 years, Shirley V. Schirtzinger and his siblings Ralph Schirtzinger, Georgia Miller, Ruth Tanner and Kenny Schirtzinger. He is survived by his children Darryl (Joy) Schirtzinger and Diane Schirtzinger, his grandsons Blake Schirtzinger, Elgin Schirtzinger and Ryan Schirtzinger, and many friends including his good neighbors Mike & Erin and Helena & Gary. Family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00p.m. FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 12, 2021 at the TIDD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich Street, Hilliard, OH 43026 (614)-876-1722 where his Funeral Service will follow the visitation and begin at 2:00p.m. FRIDAY with Pastor Phil Conrad, officiating. Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, Social Distancing will be observed and guests are required to wear a facial covering at all times while at the Funeral Home.
