Celebrating the life of Dr. Robert Baldwin, who was born on July 18, 1935, in the town of Bellevue, Ohio, to Frank and Cozy Baldwin. Robert's life was one of service, dedication, and love—a journey marked by remarkable achievements and the deep bonds he shared with his family and community.
Robert's early years in Bellevue were the foundation upon which he built a life of accomplishment. He pursued higher education with vigor, graduating from Toledo University with a degree in Pharmacy, and further distinguished himself by earning a degree in Medicine from the Ohio State University. His commitment to learning and excellence was evident as he became board certified in Pediatric Allergy, dedicating 45 years of his career to caring for children in Columbus, Ohio.
Robert's professional life was marked by his compassionate service as a doctor. His expertise in pediatric allergy allowed him to help countless young patients, earning him the respect and gratitude of families across the region. His commitment to the well-being of others extended beyond the clinic, as he served honorably as a Doctor in the United States Army from 1968 to 1969, achieving the rank of Major.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Robert was a man of diverse interests and passions. He was a huge Ohio State football and basketball fan! He was an avid golfer, cherishing his time on the greens as one of the first members of the Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio. His love for the outdoors was further expressed through his enthusiasm for fishing and hunting, pursuits he enjoyed alongside his children, creating cherished memories and lasting bonds. As a beloved Grandparent, “Poppy” would always be in the front row of the activities to provide moral support.
Robert's legacy is carried forward by his beloved children, Marc (Launa), Geoff (Heidi), Matt (Kelly), Maggie, McKenzie, Leslie (David), Kristin (Matt), and Doug (Stacey), 17 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. His family was the center of his world, and he took immense pride in their achievements and happiness. Robert was predeceased by his loving wife Karen, his parents, Frank and Cozy, his sister Rita, brothers Lee, Wayne, and Don, who preceded him in life.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at The Inn At Library Way and the Hospice staff for their dedicated care and support.
In honor of Robert's life and service, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, an organization close to his heart.
Robert's life will be celebrated in a private ceremony, reflecting the personal and meaningful connections he held dear. His legacy of love, service, and dedication will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
