Doug Wilson

Doug Wilson, age 66, of Hilliard, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 25, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.  He had a kind, gentle, and loving presence about him and was loved by all who knew him.  His sense of humor and positive spirit remained with him to the very end.  He enjoyed many things in life:  family, friends, Florida vacations, golfing, Hocking Hills, Ohio State Buckeyes, and NASCAR racing but one of his greatest pleasures came from his canine fur babies…he loved his dogs.  Doug was a longtime camper at Lost Hollow Campgrounds where, among other things, he was masterful at roasting ears of corn over an open fire.  He will truly be missed.

Doug was employed by the City of Columbus, Division of Water, and would have celebrated his 40thanniversary in May.  Also, he was a member of The Refinery Church.

He is predeceased by his father Harold, mother Nora, brother Bruce, and sister Lori as well as his fur babies Rex, Champ, Brandon, Blake, Murphy, Montana, and Spirit.  He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years Pam; brothers Eddie and Roger Wilson; sisters Tracy (Scott) Taylor, Libby (John) Skobrak, Frances (Donald) Ford, and Cathy Hoffman.  Doug is also survived by those whom he had a unique closeness:  brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Dave and Kathy Uttley, Dwayne and Trish Justice; niece Kim Uttley, nephews Chris (Caitlin) Uttley, CJ (Steph) Uttley, Brent Justice, Kyle Justice, Cody Justice, Tristan Justice, David Hoffman; great niece Eloise Uttley; cousins Jamie (Kevin) Miles, Kaleb Miles and Kailee Steininger.  Last but not least, the apple of his eye mini golden doodle Sydney.

Family will receive friends Wednesday, March 29, from 4:00-7:00 pm at Tidd Funeral Home, 5265 Norwich Street, Hilliard, Ohio 43026.  Services are Thursday, March 30, at 11:00 am at The Refinery Church, 3915 Dublin Road, Columbus, Ohio 43221, officiated by Pastor Landon Yowell.  Burial will follow at Wesley Chapel Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Capital Area Humane Society, https://www.columbushumane.org.
