David Phillips III, age 15, of Hilliard, passed away Wednesday, August 8, 2012. He was a student at Hilliard Bradley High School where he loved being a member of the marching band. He loved classic cars and playing video games. He also had an interest in aviation. First and foremost, he loved his family. He was a great son, brother, and grandson. He was a caring young man with a “heart of gold”. Preceded in death by great-grandparents, Betty and Frank Collins; great-grandmother, Frankie Byrd, and uncle, Steve Collins. Survived by loving parents, David Jr. and Christina Phillips; siblings, Devante and Jaida Phillips; grandparents, Dan Collins (Abbie Curry), David Phillips Sr. (Paula Warner), Sharon Phillips, and Lesa Goings and family; uncle, Dano Collins, aunt Brittany Collins; cousins, DanDan, Dylan, and Kyle Collins, Ebony and Whitney Andrews,and Freddy Byrd; aunt, Marion and Grant Kirk; aunts Latasha Phillips, Ebony Nichols, Dawn Ann and Sue Swinney, great aunt, Mary Andrews; great uncles, Lucius Byrd, Terry, Randy and Donnie Collins, girlfriend Kayla Self and family, along with many loving relatives and friends. Family will receive friends Sunday from 4-8 pm at THE TIDD FUNERAL HOME 5265 Norwich St. Hilliard, OH 43026; where a funeral service will be held at 10 am Monday. Interment Green Lawn Cemetery.
