Daniel Priedeman

Dan R. Priedeman passed away peacefully early Friday morning, September 12, 2025.

He was a popular and welcome leader in high school, earned his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and his master’s degree in business administration from Cornell University. At Cornell, he was a member and House Manager of the Sigma Nu Fraternity. He was a rower on the Cornell crew and treasurer of the Varsity Crew.

His life’s work revolved primarily around computers, including work at IBM, EDS (Ross Perot), Management Horizons, MHDS, Informatics, and Sterling Software. He really enjoyed solo bike trips growing up and driving a sag wagon cross country, going to a co-worker’s family farm in Ross County, cutting firewood and hiking in the woods, car trips to state parks and out of the way restaurants. He also liked tinkering on cars, was always washing ours, and worked for five years at The Center for Automotive Research at The Ohio State University.

Dan enjoyed traveling, especially car trips, spending time in forty-nine of the fifty states. He loved the outdoors and the National Parks. He was a wood craftsman. He designed and created tables, wall décor, unusual frames to hold his large jigsaw puzzles, and unique gifts.

He was a big supporter of the American Red Cross and donated over fourteen gallons of whole blood plus his regular monetary donations. He is survived by his wife, four children and their families (10 grandchildren, and four great grandchildren). He also leaves behind a sister, a sister-in-law, a favorite cousin, numerous in-laws, and other relatives, plus many who treated him as a friend.

A Memorial Gathering will take place on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3880 Gateway Blvd., Columbus OH 43228.
