Daniel Michael Peterson unexpectedly went home to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ, on January 13, 2026. He was 28. Daniel was a delightful person; he was so much fun to be around, adding laughter and silliness and joy to all our lives. Even as a grown man; tall and strong and muscular, he had a very tender side to him. Daniel was a talented singer who loved music; he sang for the Madrigals and the Boys in Blue at Hilliard Davidson High School, graduating from there in 2015. He was also a gifted artist. Daniel absolutely loved to work out and spent years growing all those muscles. His involvement as a pole vaulter in high school started him on a journey to fitness and strength training. He became a Certified Personal Trainer at one point as he enjoyed helping and challenging others with their fitness goals.
He was a devoted and supportive big brother to Christian; they were 2 years and 5 days apart, and were very close growing up. He was a wonderful son; he loved his family dearly and was a loyal friend as well. Daniel struggled in the last years of his life; but for the last 10 months was part of The Refuge; a Christian rehab and recovery program that gave us our Daniel back. We are so thankful for Jesus, who saved Daniel and now Daniel is with Him. As his family, we are clinging to the truth of Revelation 21:4, that God will wipe every tear away, in Heaven, where there will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain. God has completed the good work He began in Daniel, Philippians 1:6.
Daniel was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents: Danial and Diane Walden, and Norbert and Josephine Peterson. He is survived by his father and mother: Michael and Debbie Peterson, brother Christian Peterson, his sweet dog Max, many aunts, uncles and cousins and many, many loyal and kind friends.
Visitation will be on January 24th at 10 a.m. at Maranatha Baptist Church, 4663 Trabue Rd, Columbus at 10 a.m., with a memorial service following at 11. Losing Daniel so unexpectedly and so young, his loss is felt deeply by his family, his friends, and everyone who knew him.
