Charlotte A. Kerr, age 85, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2025, at Violet Springs Assisted Living in Canal Winchester, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Howard Kerr Sr. and her parents James and Agnes Donesec. She is survived by her three sons Jim (Christine), Howard (Brenda), and John (Grandchildren Danny and Matthew), and her sister Emily.
Charlotte was born on September 17, 1939, in Uniontown, Pennsylvania and grew up on Hilltop Street in Clairton. She married Howard while living in Ogden, UT on May 5, 1960 where sons Jim and John were born. Howard Jr. was born in Buffalo NY before the family settled in Hilliard, Ohio in 1970.
She worked at Avery Elementary School Library and later at the Upper Arlington High School Learning Center and Records Office. Charlotte volunteered for little league baseball events at Alt Field in Hillard. She had the same phone number for over 40 years; all her friends and family could reach her anytime.
Family was the center of Charlotte’s life. She was a passionate mother that cooked meals for the family on Sundays until Howard Sr’s passing in 2015. She taught all three sons how to make nut rolls almost as tasty as she did. Her grandsons affectionately call her “Baba” and she was a comfort to them, singing bedtime songs during sleepovers. She believed strongly that her grandchildren were the continuation of her being.
Family will receive friends from 12pm-1pm Monday, September 15, 2025 at Tidd Funeral Home, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, OH 43026; where a funeral service will follow at 1pm. Afterwards a brief graveside service will be held for her and her family at Wesley Chapel Cemetery.
