Carl Rayburn

Carl Patrick Rayburn, 44, of Hilliard passed unexpectedly on August 22, 2023. Carl was born in Jacksonville, NC on 5/11/79 to Sue (Faulkner) and Harley Rayburn. After Carl graduated from Hilliard Davidson Highschool in 1998, he went on to pursue his own landscaping business and many hobbies. Father and grandfather was always his most cherished role in addition to coaching his boys’ football teams. Over the years you could hear him before you could see him on the sideline, baseball field, or the wrestling mat cheering on his boys. He loved the outdoors, and you could always find him stopping at a local gas station for snacks to share. More than anything, he will be remembered for carrying out selfless acts for others, and willingly helping with the jobs no one wanted to do. Carl was loved by so many – known as the Big Teddy Bear. Carl was a huge Michigan Wolverines fan – no matter what the outcome year after year. Preceded in death by his father Harley Rayburn, mother Sue Faulkner, Grandmother JoAnn Penwell. Survived by his children Austin Rayburn (Payton Ruffner), Caiden Rayburn. Grandson Crew Rayburn. Siblings Tim Rayburn, Robert Rayburn (Tara), Katherine Rayburn. Partner Katrina Climber, Franny Climber, stepfather Ron Faulkner, stepmother Carol Rayburn, stepsister Jennifer Borland (Brian),  and stepbrother Jeff Sines (Erin), many nieces and nephews, friends, and extended family. Family will receive friends Wednesday, August 30, 2023 from 3pm-4pm at the TIDD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, OH 43026; where funeral service will follow at 4 pm. Celebration of Life to follow funeral service at The Station.
